In the Arrowtown Museum
Wooo! See those old school clothes, we had to put them on and we had these caps to put on as well so that we will look like the school kids.
The first thing that happened was Miss Grey ( the pretend teacher from the 1880’s) checked our nails to see if our nails were clean. After that we had to write on slate with a slate pencil. We had to do copperplate handwriting and write our name.
Some of us got told off for handing the slate boards to the boys first instead of the girls. After that we got some photos taken of us in the old school clothes. It was really funny.
We went for a walk around the museum and we found all kinds of thing then we went for a walk around Arrowtown and we went to the old gaol that is how they spelt jail back then.
We went gold panning and I learnt to do gold panning and we all found gold flake and some found two bits of gold it is easy to do gold panning now.
