Adventure Southland
AHHHHHHHH!!!! Wow, this is so freaky! Why is it so high up?
On our school camp at Bannockburn, Adventure Southland came and took us through rock climbing, flying fox and high ropes activities.
Up first, my group had rock climbing and we had to learn how to put on a harness and secure it safely to the rope so we don’t fall off and hurt ourselves badly on the tree.
When we got on the rock-climbing wall in the end. Georgia got up and helped me climb up the wall, coaxing me up and telling me what hand holds to hold and all that stuff.
Moving on, we went on to the high ropes and got on those. The three-wire bridge rope was very scary, but as you passed it got easier.
The next obstacle, THE LOG, was really easy as we walked across a high log, strung up between two trees, clipped to a wire that was above our head so if we fall we just hang on to the rope and get back on.
I won’t go on, so let’s move to the next activity, the FLYING FOX. Basically, the flying fox is a wire, which you sit in a harness, clipped to the wire and go swinging off the platform really fast.
We had a great day and if I could I would do it again and again.
We’ll that’s the Adventure Southland day, and it was a really cool experience to have.
