PLASMA BALL!

“The world of science”, especially in Room 9. Well in Room 9 we had a plasma ball. It is full electrons that attach to your hand when you put your hand over the ball. That is what we discovered electricity is  - it is the flow of electrons.

We all got to have a turn to touch it. If you touch it with your hand and then you touch somebody else they will get an electric shock! If you look closely you might be able to see the electricity grounding itself. It warms your hand as well.

The plasma ball has very thin glass around it so, if you knock it, it breaks. It is very hard to get them fixed. They are very hard to find in a store. It works really well in the dark.

Plasma balls are fun because they are a new experience. If you have been to Dunedin’s museum in the play area there are a couple of long ones and ones that look like speakers J.
