Suspension bridges
A suspension bridge is a bridge that consists two pairs of pillars, one on either side of the span, with two or more cables slung between them.
Swimming Holes
A Swimming hole is a small body of water (usually in a creek) that is deep enough to swim in.

Modern suspension bridges
A modern suspension bridge has got four pylons (pillars), in between the two pylons. The space in between them is called the centre span. In between one of the smallest and one of the biggest pylons it is called the side span.
Ancient suspension bridges
An ancient suspension bridge has a wooden deck/flooring and rope sides for hand railing which was also used to hold the bridge up. The rope was called cords. Ancient suspension bridges wobbled when you cross it.
Other suspension bridges you can only walk across are ones like at Movora Lakes and there are many more suspension bridges around New Zealand We enjoyed finding out about suspension bridges.
