Going Further
RAIN GAUGE

Room 9 have been learning about floods and how they happen. Also how you know when a flood is coming.

So we made rain gauges. First we had to get a glass bottle and then the teacher had to came around the tables and help us write how many millimetres or centimetres.

Next the teacher had to cut the bottom of some plastic bottles for the top of the rain gauges, so the water can get in. Then we put the rain gauges outside. Now we go outside every day and see if there is any water from the rain in them. Tom

RAIN GAUGE

Room 9 made a rain gauge for each table group. Every day before lunch Room 9 go and check the rain gauge to see how much water from the rain is in it. Every day one person tips the water out of rain gauge so we know how much rain fell each day. Then we record how much rain there was on a chart and then a graph.
