We have been learning about psalms.

The bible is like a library of many books. There are books in this bible that are letters, stories, rules and even songs.

Psalms are poems that were written along time ago they are found in one of the many books of the bible.

We wrote our own psalms praising God for his creation .

God is like a father that listens to our prayers

He is like a mountain that towers over a city and watches everything we do

Like a bright rainbow that shines over us

Like a never ending stream
that flows right round the world.
The Lord protects us like an eagle protects its young.
As the glistening moon rises over us we know that God is always watching over us throughout the night.
The fiery sun reminds us that you will never fail to guard us from all danger and harm.
You guide us like a Shepherd guides his sheep to safety and shelter.
As the graceful waterfall runs down the jaggered mountains to meet the sparkling river it reminds us of how you help us in difficult times.

All this wonderful creation is why we praise you our loving Lord.

Baillie and Ben’s psalms

Thank you Lord for a roof over my head
To keep me dry
Thank you God for a meal to eat so we don’t starve
Thank you Lord for friends so we can play
Thank you God for family to look after us and feed us
Thank you Lord for clean water to drink so we don’t thirst
Thank you God for pets to play with
Thank you Lord for creating us
Lift my head to the glistening mountains my ears to the soft flowing stream. Wondering at my Lord,
Thanking him for the prancing animals, for the trees in the distance ahead of me.
For my friends and family, thank you O God For looking over me in the light of the moon and in the brightness of the sun,
Thank you O Lord for everything.
God is great because he made the snow-flaked mountains.
God is great because he made us with his loving soul.
God is great because he gave us our own great goal!
God is great because he made the green forest and the rain so we can drink.
God is great because he gave us great colours like pink

For the birds that tweet every morning,
For the sparkling stars that light up the night sky.
For the warm gust of wind on my face,
For the colourful flowers every colour of the rainbow,
For the gleaming fishes that sparkle in daylight,
For the sunbeam through our window.

Thank you Lord Jesus Christ,
If we’re in need of your help you’ll help us.
You’re like our best friend,
You’re there every step we take.
From our house to the school, You’re always in our prayers.
You’ll never turn your back on us, instead you’ll forgive us

Thank you Lord for greatness all over the world and in us. Thank you Lord for all the lovely trees that make us air that we breath.
Thank you Lord for all the animals that make us happy.
