Geckos are small animals, there are over 750 types of geckos. Geckos are usually green or brown with a short stubby tail that can fall off if it is scared or going to get eaten by a predator. After its tail falls off it grows a new tail. There is no
mess or blood because their cells close up instantly.

Geckos have many predators that make its tail fall off like, a bird, snake, reptiles, mammals and spiders.

Geckos like all kinds of habitats they mostly like grasslands, rainforests as well as deserts. The female geckos lays white hard eggs.females lay eggs beneth bark of trees. They are cold blooded and often lay 2 at a time.

Usually geckos eat crickerts, worms and drink water. All the fat they don’t need gets stored into their tail for later.

Geckos are a nice and lovely animal. If you see a gecko be sure to treat it with respect.

Geckos live in deserts and rain forests, because some geckos like hot and dry places and some like hot and wet land.


Geckos can drop off their tails so they can get away from their predators and that they can escape while the tail is still wriggling , this is important because If the tail gets damaged they might grow more than one tail.


Did you know that geckos are cold blooded and that geckos can store food in their tails for later. Most geckos are around 1.2 inches long, or 3-15 centimeters.
Some people keep geckos as pets; however they live 20 more years than the geckos that live in the deserts and rain forests.



They have flat toes with tiny little hairs and more little hairs on those hairs to stick to things like the ceiling. The geckos can be all different colors like grey/ green or a dirty white.


The predators of a gecko are mammals, snakes, birds and spiders. They eat worms, insects and crickets and are good at hunting for food.
