Monarch Butterfly Discoveries

As you know we have a Monarch Butterflies in our classroom. The other day we were lucky enough to see the Wiggle Jiggle Dance.

The Wiggle Jiggle Dance

Do you know what the wiggle jiggle dance is?

The wiggle jiggle dance is where caterpillars wiggle and jiggle to try get all their skin off so they can get into their chrysalis. They really really try to get their skin off by wriggling and jiggling for quite a long time.

Sometimes the caterpillar’s skin does not come fully off and the butterfly comes out deformed. But usually the caterpillar’s skin does come all off and  out comes a beautiful monarch butterfly.

So there you have it, now you can go tell your friends all about the wiggle jiggle dance.
