Room 9’s Ancestry Discoveries

In Room 9 we have been learning about different cultures and about our family history.

Some children have discovered that they had a Maori chief and some people have learnt that they had somebody famous in their family. Some of our ancestors are from: Ireland, Spain, Wales, Scotland, France, England, and South Africa.

We did a pizza graph about what we like to do and our favourite food and music. We then discussed our favourite food and discovered that some of us like the same food because our ancestors came from that country. Some of us liked Thai food and Sushi so some of our ancestors might have came from Thailand or Japan.

We are going to do a display in the classroom about one of our ancestors and all about different cultures.
