Maths in Room 9

Check out our videos about maths on the Maths TAB above.
Natalie Wiegersma came 26 out of 34 women in the 200m freestyle individual medley. She was 4 sec outside of her Personal Best, which is 12.20secs. Her time at the Olympics was 2mins 16.24secs

2.        Ye Shiwen, the fastest and was 8 seconds in front of Natalie at the Olympic games. She was 4 seconds faster than Natalie’s Personal Best. Natalie would have got into the final if she had swum her Personal Best but she would have had to swim a lot faster to get a medal. We learnt that 4 seconds is a lot of time in the swimming pool but not for us in a normal day.

In Room 9 We have been throwing shot puts as far as we can, then comparing our distances with Valerie Adams’ world record of 22.86m.
 These are our results:

You can view the results on the wall outside our class.

Conclusion:
Obviously we will need to wait until we are a lot older and train a lot before we beat the world record holder Valerie Adams.
