Traditions and Rituals in the Church






Genuflecting is a prayer that we do. Everyone is showing we believe Jesus is in the tabernacle in a special way when we genuflect. You genuflect when you go in and out of the church. When at church you bend your knee and do the sign of the cross in front of Jesus because it shows that we believe in Jesus.

Traditional Prayers

Traditional prayers can be sung or said. The Our Father is a traditional way to talk to God. Mary the mother of Jesus said yes to God and followed Jesus. We can pray to her saying the Hail Mary. Traditional prayers are passed from generation to generation.

Blessing
We bless ourselves with Holy Water when we go in and out of the Church.
