Dear Parents,


We continue our Inquiry Unit for this term by TAKING ACTION on “How do we prepare for emergencies?” Later in the term we will focus on Christmas and in particular the needs of children in other countries at Christmas time.

Room 9 Programme for Term 4 will be:

Maths: We will be covering:
Geometry: focusing on direction & symmetry
Numeracy: working on addition/ subtraction, & multiplication/division
Measurement: we will be focusing on money
The children need to be learning 5,10 and 2 times tables.

Religious Education: The first week we will look at prayer Then we will focus on the
Communion of Saints and Christmas Strands.
We will also be having a class mass with Room 3. We will let you know the date when it is finalised.

Literacy: We will be using the personal recount genre for writing process.

Reading will be as usual, with a focus on cloze and comprehension skills.
Log Books will be given a sticker if completed on Fridays.
Spelling will come home on Mondays and is tested on Fridays.

Physical Education:
This term we will focus on skipping and fitness. Jump Off will be Friday the 26th of October.
The children need to have their sports uniform on Monday and Fridays. We will be doing fitness most days so they need their sports shoes days.


The Arts: We will work on painting and crafts. We will be creating things for Christmas and the Fair for the Missions.
