EXPERIMENTS ABOUT THE STOP BANKS

We wanted to know what happened in the 1984 flood so we did these two experiments.

Sand Experiment

What you need is a bucket and some sand and water.

This is what we did:

We put sand in a bucket. Made a river and flood banks out of the
sand. We put a bridge over the river. Then we poured water into the sand bucket.

Next we saw it knocked the bridge into the stop bank. It broke the
stopbank. The river went through the gap in the stop bank and
over - flowed.
