FINDING OUT

WHO ELSE HELPS US IN AN EMERGENCY?

On Friday we had a visit from the St John’s Ambulance Education Officer.

She taught us how to call 111. We had a lot of fun practicing on pretend phones. We took turns at being hurt, ringing 111 and being the operator.

We know we have to speak slowly and clearly. We also know we only ring 111 in an emergency.

She also showed us the oxygen tank and mask. It sounded like a snake hissing and when she added water it looked like steam. But it was not hot to touch.

It is good to see the children enjoying learning something so important. The blog is really interesting and we will be looking on a regular basis.
